Connect Facebook

Connecting Facebook lets you publish posts, stories and reels to your Facebook Page from Vivreal, schedule them ahead, and see how the Page is doing.

Before you start

Two things to know:

  • Vivreal connects to a Facebook Page, not a personal profile. If you run your business from a personal profile, create a Page first.
  • You need to be an admin of the Page. Facebook will not offer you a Page you only help manage at a lower level.

Instagram is a separate channel

Instagram connects on its own in Vivreal and does not need a Facebook Page. Connecting Facebook does not connect Instagram, and you do not have to connect Facebook to use Instagram. See Connect Instagram.

1. Open the Facebook channel

In Vivreal, go to Channels and tap Facebook.

2. Sign in to Facebook

Tap Connect. Vivreal sends you to Facebook to sign in and approve the connection. You are approving Vivreal, so we never see your Facebook password.

Approve everything Facebook asks for. Skipping a permission switches off the matching part of the channel. The one people most often miss is the insights permission, which is what fills the Analytics tab.

3. Choose your Page

Facebook asks which Pages to include. Tick the Page you want to post to. If you manage several, you can tick more than one and pick between them each time you post.

4. Come back to Vivreal

Facebook sends you back to the Channels page, and the Page name appears under Connected. You can post right away.

What you get once it is connected

The Facebook channel has four tabs.

TabWhat it is for
OverviewThe connected Page and a summary of recent posts
PostsEverything you have written here: published, scheduled and drafts
AnalyticsHow the Page is doing overall
SettingsReconnecting and disconnecting

Posting

From the Posts tab, tap the + button. You can publish a post, a story, or a reel.

The text is the only part you must fill in. You can attach up to 10 images or videos, and add a link.

LimitFacebook
TextUp to 63,206 characters
Images or videosUp to 10

Facebook's text limit is long enough that you are unlikely to meet it, so Vivreal only starts showing you a counter once a post gets genuinely long.

Leave the publish date blank to post immediately, or set a future date and time to schedule it. Scheduled posts go out on their own.

More than one Page

If you connected several Pages, a picker appears at the top of the channel so you can switch between them. Whichever Page is selected is the one your post goes to, so it is worth a glance before you publish.

Analytics

The Analytics tab shows followers, reach, views and engaged accounts, a chart of reach and views over the last 28 days, and your top posts.

For a single post, open the Posts tab, tap the options button on any published post, and choose Analytics.

If Analytics asks you to reconnect

Page insights only flow once Facebook has granted the insights permission. If that was skipped when you connected, or Facebook has not finished approving it, the tab asks you to reconnect rather than showing you zeroes.

Reconnect from the Settings tab and approve everything this time. A zero we cannot stand behind is worse than no number at all, so we show you the prompt instead.

If something is not working

  • Your Page was not offered. You are probably not an admin of it. Check your role in Facebook's Page settings, then reconnect.
  • Posts go to the wrong Page. Check the Page picker at the top of the channel.
  • The Analytics tab asks you to reconnect. The insights permission was not granted. Reconnect from Settings.
  • A post did not go out. See Post did not go out.
  • You want to stop. Settings, then Disconnect. Your posts stay in Vivreal, and nothing is removed from Facebook.
