Connect TikTok

Connecting TikTok lets you upload videos from Vivreal, set who can see them, and schedule them ahead.

TikTok has more rules around publishing than the other channels, mostly about disclosing paid or promotional content. Vivreal walks you through them in order, and will not let you publish something TikTok would reject.

1. Open the TikTok channel

In Vivreal, go to Channels and tap TikTok.

2. Sign in to TikTok

Tap Connect. Vivreal sends you to TikTok to sign in and approve the connection. You are approving Vivreal, so we never see your TikTok password.

3. Come back to Vivreal

TikTok sends you back to the Channels page and your account appears under Connected.

What you get once it is connected

The TikTok channel has three tabs.

TabWhat it is for

From the Posts tab, tap the + button.

TikTok is particular about video format. Vivreal sorts that out during upload, so you can hand it the file you have.

The publish panel then asks you for four things, in this order.

Who can view this

Pick the audience for the video. You have to choose. Vivreal will not guess a visibility on your behalf, because guessing wrong on a public platform is not a small mistake.

What people can do with it

Under Allow users to, you decide whether people can Comment, Duet or Stitch your video. These start switched off, so tick the ones you want.

Whether it is promotional

Disclose video content is off by default. Turn it on if the video promotes anything, and then tick at least one of:

OptionHow TikTok labels your video
Your BrandPromotional content
Branded ContentPaid partnership

If you turn the toggle on you must tick one of the two, otherwise publishing stays blocked and Vivreal tells you why.

Branded Content cannot be private

Ticking Branded Content removes the private visibility option, because TikTok does not allow a paid partnership video to be hidden from everyone. Vivreal asks about disclosure before visibility for exactly this reason, so your audience choice is never quietly changed after you make it.

The final confirmation

Before the publish button turns on, you confirm you agree to TikTok's terms for the kind of post you are making. TikTok requires this, and the exact wording depends on whether you disclosed branded content.

Leave the publish date blank to post immediately, or set a future date and time to schedule it.

Seeing how a video did

TikTok has no overall Analytics tab in Vivreal, unlike Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

What you can see is per video. Open the Posts tab, tap the options button on any published video, and choose Analytics.

If something is not working

  • The publish button will not turn on. Read the message under it. The usual causes are no video chosen, no visibility chosen, or the disclosure toggle on with neither option ticked.
  • You cannot pick the private option. Branded Content is ticked. Untick it, or choose a different audience.
  • A post did not go out. See Post did not go out.
  • You want to stop. Settings, then Disconnect. Your videos stay in Vivreal, and nothing is removed from TikTok.
