Connections
Channels are the outside services you connect to Vivreal: where you take payments, and where you publish. Once connected you can sell, post and see how things did without leaving the portal.
Open Channels from the navigation to see everything you can connect, with the ones you already have grouped at the top.
What you can connect
| Channel | What it does | How you connect it |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payments, products, orders, payouts, discount codes | Paste a restricted key |
| Square | Payments, products, orders | Sign in to Square |
| Post, schedule, reply to comments and messages | Sign in | |
| Post to your Page, schedule | Sign in | |
| Post from your profile or a Company Page | Sign in | |
| X | Post and schedule | Sign in |
| TikTok | Upload videos, with the disclosures TikTok requires | Sign in |
| Mailchimp | Email campaigns, audiences, opens and clicks | Sign in |
Stripe is the only one that asks you for anything to copy. Everything else connects by signing in and approving Vivreal, so we never see your password.
Each has its own page with the exact steps, limits and settings:
| Connect Stripe | Connect Square |
| Connect Instagram | Connect Facebook |
| Connect LinkedIn | Connect X |
| Connect TikTok | Connect Mailchimp |
How to connect one
Open Channels
Everything you can connect is listed here.
Pick the one you want
Its page opens, with the steps for that particular service.
Sign in, or paste your key
Every channel except Stripe sends you off to sign in and approve Vivreal. Stripe asks you to paste a restricted key instead.
Check its settings
Most have a couple of options worth setting once, such as default hashtags for a social account, or who your emails come from for Mailchimp.
Where to find your numbers
Every social channel gives you per-post figures. Open the Posts tab, tap the options button on a published post, and choose Analytics.
Account-level figures are not the same everywhere, because the platforms do not all hand back the same data:
| Channel | Account-level Analytics tab |
|---|---|
| Instagram, Facebook | Yes, with a 28-day reach and views chart and top posts |
| Yes, six numbers. No chart, because LinkedIn does not provide the history for one yet | |
| X, TikTok | No account-level tab. Per-post figures only |
Where a platform does not return a number, Vivreal leaves it blank rather than showing a zero.
Two things worth knowing before you start
Stripe and Square cannot both be connected
You take payments through one of them at a time. If one is connected and you start connecting the other, Vivreal does not throw an error at you. It offers a guided changeover: it switches the first off, then connects the second.
Disconnecting Square withdraws Vivreal's access at Square, so reconnecting is a fresh sign-in. Stripe can be switched back on with the key it already has.
One channel can hold several accounts
A single channel can hold more than one account. One LinkedIn sign-in also brings in the Company Pages you administer, and one Facebook sign-in can cover several Pages.
When you publish, a picker at the top lets you choose which account it goes out as. Worth a glance before you post.
How many you can connect
| Plan | Channels |
|---|---|
| Free | 3 |
| Basic | 5 |
| Pro and above | As many as you like |
See Plans and limits.
Managing what you have connected
From a channel's page you can:
- See what came across, such as products, posts or campaigns
- Reconnect, if the connection has expired or you need to approve something new
- Swap your Stripe key, without disturbing anything else
- Disconnect it entirely
Disconnecting does not delete your content
When you disconnect, anything already pulled into Vivreal stays where it is. What stops is the live connection. Reconnecting means signing in again rather than picking up where you left off.
Webhooks are set up somewhere else
Webhooks are not one of the channels above, so you will not find them on this page. They live in your business settings under Webhooks, and how many you can have depends on your plan.
They are a way to have Vivreal notify your own software whenever your content changes, so they are only useful if you or someone you work with is writing that software. If nobody is, you can ignore the tab entirely.
The setup detail is in the developer section: Webhooks, Event types, and Payloads.
